It is known that Rajinikanth is back in town. But the south superstar, who returned to India last Wednesday amidst a rousing welcome, still remains elusive. The reason: his doctors don’t want him to entertain visitors, fearing it will only worsen his health. So, only the superstar’s family members are allowed to be in touch with him.
“Even I haven’t met Rajni sir yet, Actually, doctors aren’t allowing anyone to visit him fearing complications rising from possible infection. If lots of people meet him, that will increase the risk of an infection. So, except for close family members, he isn’t meeting anyone. Though I plan to visit him in a few days.” says Rana director KS Ravikumar with a smile speaking to a newspaper.
Apparently, Rajni is staying away from the limelight at his eldest daughter Aishwarya’s house with actor son-in-law Dhanush and their two children, Yatra and Linga. Before his arrival in Chennai, it was speculated that he would be either staying at his Poes Garden residence, that is believed to be undergoing a vaastu makeover, or his sprawling Kelambakkam farmhouse.
“Although he isn’t meeting people, Rajni sir has been calling up friends and well-wishers. He gave me a call too and discussed Rana in detail. He is very excited about starting work on it. But we must make sure that the details are worked out as per his health status and comfort level,” says Ravikumar.
But the big question remains: when is Rajni going to start shooting for Rana? “We aren’t in a hurry at all. Why should we put any stress on him? Let me meet him first, and then we will decide on details like shooting schedule. Nothing is absolutely locked yet, but we plan to start shoot by the end of September,” says the director. “We are in touch with Deepika (the female lead) too. And whenever the shooting schedule is finalised, she’ll be the first one to be informed,” says the director.
